MEDIA RELEASE - 12 June, 2002
itv|world to showcase its recently released In|Orbit™ interactive
television scheduling and automation system at BroadcastAsia 2002.
Sydney -- 12 June, 2002 -- In what is the first public showing
worldwide, Sydney-based interactive TV solutions provider, itv|world,
today announced it will unveil its innovative new iTV management
system, In|Orbit, in Singapore at BroadcastAsia 2002.
The patented system, which took ten man-years to build, will be
exhibited in the booth of OpenTV (Suntech Singapore, 18 to
21 June 2002).
For network operators and broadcasters who deliver interactive
television, In|Orbit schedules and automates the delivery of interactive
services. Unlike existing in-house solutions, the In|Orbit software
offers a complete service management solution. It is an open and
scalable product designed to maximise operational efficiency now
and in the future.
The array of iTV services will experience an explosive annual growth
rate of 59%, totaling over 244 million households worldwide by 2006
and creating revenues from ITV services of $19.2 billion in 2006
according to recent research1.
"itv|world has now entered the next phase of product commercialisation
for In|Orbit," said Jason Romney, itv|world CEO. "Our presence
at BroadcastAsia 2002 is just one part of our global sales and marketing
activities planned for the coming months."
"With the number of interactive services growing on every network,
In|Orbit is already attracting significant interest from network
operators and broadcasters looking for the most efficient management
solution for scheduling and automation of interactive services,"
said Sven Wolf, Product Development Director, itv|world.
