MEDIA RELEASE - 2 December, 2002
itv|world announces International Software Development Initiative
Sydney based company itv|world announces recommitment to international
growth of its software development business.
SYDNEY, Australia - 2 December, 2002 -- itv|world, a Sydney
based software developer and specialist provider of digital media
technology solutions expects its international business to grow
100 percent next year, powered by opportunities in the digital media
sector.
This positive outlook came on the back of recent development projects
secured with a major broadcaster in the UK as well as Australian
pay-TV operator Austar.
The TV Program Guide, launched by the Seven Network during September
on channel 77 on the digital FTA network, was also developed by
itv|world's team using the RTX technology from Inscriber. Used by
large organisations such as CNN, the technology enables the customer
to create a computer generated TV channel.
"We have received a strong response from many of the world's
leading networks and broadcasters, which is particularly encouraging"
said itv|world's founding CEO Mr Jason Romney. "Itv|world
has continued to make progress in developing and focusing its businesses
against a background of tough market conditions and a significant
portion of our resources are now being focused on International
software development and licensing" said Mr. Romney. "Specifically,
opportunities will come from companies looking for high quality,
specialised media technology software developed within predictable
timelines and at low cost - particularly in a live-to-air environment"
said Mr. Romney.
itv|world has a combined experience of more than 50 years in software
development working internationally for network providers, broadcasters
and telcos.
"itv|world's software development team uses best-practice
processes applying the Rational Unified Process as a base with a
strong influence from the latest thoughts defined in Agile Processes
like eXtreme Programming. We customise and apply these methods and
processes depending on the nature of each project. The goal of our
process is to ensure the production of high-quality software that
meets the needs of its end-users, within a predictable schedule
and budget." said itv|world's CTO, Mr Patrik Molander.
The team at itv|world hosts experts in the areas of scheduling,
automation, content management, workflow, iTV compliance testing
tools and processes, rights management, EPGs and Meta data, RTX
Inscriber, Interactive TV Broadcasting protocols and Broadband Internet
